When I want to link work to a particular area the first thing I do is to take lots of photos to capture interesting views which will inspire me.

This screenshot shows how I have used photographs and then created the textures, colours and outlines of landscapes in pewter. By seeing the photographs together you can see how the pewter mimics the natural settings.

It can be difficult to get exactly what I want but I usually have enough control to get quite close.

Screenshot of finished work on my pinterest site. These are now ready for framing. They are to be mounted on cream with a white frame. This is a different setting for my work. I normally set against black.

Last week saw freak weather across the United Kingdom. Devon was one of the worst hit places. Completely snowed in and cut off for two days in an area where you rarely even get a sprinkling of snow it was an amazing experience. As well as the deep snow we got fierce waves and floods.

I used this freak weather as inspiration for this latest piece.

Snowed in.

In the midst of the worst weather in 40 years. Completely snowed in and nothing to do so had to get my pewter out and do a bit of casting.
