I made a two part mould of a pear and made three ceramic pears.
I glazed the pears with a copper raku glaze.
The reduction and post reduction in a raku kiln produces this effect.IMAG1215
The results of a raku firing are random but they couldn’t have worked better, the one pear has a circular pattern at the top and the other two have side, flame patterns.
They work better as a threesome because of the patternation even though they are all beautiful in their own right.

Previously I made a raised copper bowl. In my current assignment I made two pewter bowls using the same technique. Pewter is easier to work with as you do not have to keep annealing pewter like copper. It is also a much softer metal so the process of raising IMAG1222_1is quicker.

On my current assignment, Duplicating Form, I have been printing an image of my pattern on my ceramics.IMAG0942_1IMAG1003_1_1_1
I photographed the ceramic piece and altered the colour and contrast. I then printed it onto acetate which I used to make a screen. I then printed the image onto fabric.
Whilst looking at differEnt types of printing techniques, I made this document of duplicated letter K’s to also make a screen and print.IMAG1237
Adding the red K makes a lot of difference as when I printed it in black and white it had no impact at all.
